London... The 1st Night
This is the last place before I go back to Paris for the rest of the semester. LONDON!!! This is the land of fish and chips. Where people say, “Cheers!” while passing by. London was great, but really expensive. Thankfully all the museums are free. And I really don’t like the British Pound. I believe that at the time I was there it was around $1.80 to £1. That was my least...
Dublin...Day 2
The 2nd day in Dublin was our last. We had already seen most of the stuff we wanted to at this point. So another day a aimless walking just to see what we could find.
(Leprechaun Museum?? Who all seen the leprechaun say yea! YEA!!!!)
(St. Patrick’s Cathedral)
(Walking through a park)
(Looking down O’Connell Street)

Dublin, Ireland...Day 1
After Rome we were on our way to the next destination, Dublin. We only had about 2 days there, but we definitely made the best of it. As always the day started off as random wandering around the city. However, we did have some major places in mind that we wanted to visit.
(The River Liffey)
(There I am putting out the vibe…or at least trying to. I was dead tired after a late flight...
Rome... Day 4
Now it’s the 4th and final full day in Rome. I had already seen quite a lot, but there was still some stuff to see. I went alone for the entire day. The reason being that I had already seen The Coliseum, The Roman Forum, etc… and the rest of the group had not seen those. However, we agreed to meet at the Trevi Fountain at a specific time. My phone didn’t work there so we had to...

Rome... Day 3
It’s day 3 in Rome now and there’s still much to see. Started the day off with the usual hostel breakfast of a bread roll, slice of ham, slice of cheese, and coffee. It seems that every hostel I go to they at least have that for breakfast. It’s universal. After breakfast Joe, the other Americans, the German, and I all went into town. Our first stop was The Vatican.
(There...

Rome... Day 2
It’s now the 2nd day of my travels and it’s time to see some major stuff. Thankfully one of my roommates, Ashwin, told me all about the public transportation in Rome which made my stay so much easier. Also, something great happened. I had no idea, but while I was in Rome it was Cultural Week. What does that mean? Everything is free. The Coliseum, Roman Forum, museums etc… It...

Rome... Day 1
So begins another adventure around Europe. It started at 4am April 13, 2011. I had an early flight and I had to get into Paris only to have to take a bus 1 hour out of the city to Beauvais Airport. From there I flew to the great city of Rome! Now my second favorite city; Paris is my first favorite city. The hostel there, Litus Roma Hostel, is by far the best hostel I’ve been to....

A walk through the park
This past Thursday I decided to take a walk through the local park here in Cergy. The weather was so nice how could I resist?
(Green hills of grass everywhere. It’s nice break after being surrounded by concrete all the time)
(Translation: Keep dogs on leash.)
(The lake. They have small sail boats you can rent for the day. I may have to come back and do that one day.)
(Epic Red...
miss you!!
Fine Dining
I’ve been in France now for about 2 months. I really hadn’t tried fine French cuisine much. Not because I avoided it or didn’t want to try it. It’s just, I couldn’t find it. I live in a university town so there’s a lot of cheap good food. But nothing fancy like most people think of when they hear about French food. So, I went into Paris to meet my friends...
Nouveau Casino
Last night was AWESOME!!! I finally got to do what I’ve always wanted to do since I got here. A few friends and I went to a Parisian night club to see one of my favorite artist, The Phantom’s Revenge. We went to Nouveau Casino which seems to be a pretty nice venue. It wasn’t too big, but it had a nice bar and an upper floor to chill and talk with people. I’ll definitely be...
A day in Paris with my dad!
So I had just gotten back from vacation and a day later my dad came to Paris for a visit! It was his first time back in Paris since 30 years ago. So I had to give him a tour of the city. I decided to take him to the Louvre, Champs Elysees, L’Arc de Triumph, the Eiffel Tower, and Montmartre.
(Me and my dad at The Louvre)
(After hanging at the Louvre for a few hours we decided to...
Barcelona, Spain... Day two
It’s now our 2nd and last whole day in Barcelona. The next morning we had to leave ASAP for an early flight back to Paris. So we have to make this day worth it. It started out with a general plan. Mike and Cody were gonna go to Sagrada Famillia and take a tour. Joe and I were supposed to meet them at a park around 2pm. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, Joe and I get to the park. Which...
Barcelona, Spain... Day one
We’ve finally made it. Spain! The one I’ve been waiting for. We got to Barcelona pretty late. We only had enough time to get to our hostel, get some food, and sleep. But as soon as we got there the weather was amazing! After having been in two countries that we’re freezing cold, we got to experience some warm weather on the Mediterranean.
(Welcome to our hostel. This one was...
Amsterdam... Day two.
It’s our 2nd day in Amsterdam. Now we can actually do some real sight seeing. We went to the Van Gogh Museum, but unfortunately pictures were not allowed… It was really cool tho! Nice art. The rest of the day was spent just like the others, walking around town.
(Our Hostel)
(The crazy stairs. Like Joe said, these things might as well have been a ladder. They were so steep it was...
Amsterdam, Holland!!! Day one
After having been in an Eastern European country it was time to get back to Western style of life. Amsterdam is a great city! Everyone there speaks English and they are probably the nicest people I’ve met in Europe so far. Not that anyone else isn’t nice. It’s just that they seem to have that little extra bit of hospitality. Our hostel was really cramped this time and pretty...
Prague... Day Two
It’s the second day in Prague and we’ve already seen a lot. What else could there be? Tons… We have barley seen what’s on the other side of the river.
(The Astronomical Clock)
(Now entering the Jewish Quarter of Prague)
(Estates Theatre where Mozart’s Don Giovanni premiered)
(After taking a tour around town we got hungry. The food was...

18 Fevrier, 2011... Prague day one
It’s our first full day in Prague and we don’t really have a plan… So we got lost. Our day started by walking parallel to the river and stopping where ever we thought it was worth it to stop. We found several neat shops to buy souvenirs from and also some cool places to eat. Eventually we found what we thought was an abandoned school. It had some weird graffiti on it. Next to...
Lovin the Pictures!
Hey Jacque!
Its Kat, in case you didn’t know who tumblinweed was… lol I just wanted say… WOW! I absolutely LOVE your pictures! The landscape, architecture, everyday life, of France seems so beautiful and exciting! I’m glad you’re having a blast and I hope you enjoy your trip through Prague and Amsterdam. Miss and Love you much!
17 Fevrier, 2011.... Welcome to Prague
Right now I’m sitting in my hostel in Prague or Praha as the locals call it. It’s really cold, but really beautiful. Our hostel is very cheap in cost, but pretty nice compared to others I’ve heard about. So far the people we’ve met have been cool. We met some Brazilians and one guy from Amsterdam last night. Really nice people. Today we’re gonna get lost around town...
i ♥ the pics! keep ‘em comin’!! =D
landshaper asked: Dude! When will you be in Amsterdam? There is an LA trip going there in the Maymester.
15 Février, 2011... This is how we do
So, my 9 day trip begins tomorrow. I will be going from Paris to Prague. Prague to Amsterdam. Amsterdam to Barcelona. Barcelona back to Paris. I’m so excited! I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep tonight. But before I go I had to do laundry. Now, here at my fine apartment, Les Chenes d’Or, they have washing machines. Note the ‘s’ for plural. For the entire...

What a day! I went into Paris, The City of Love, to spend Valentine’s Day. It was another day of walking around and exploring the city. I’ve still got a lot to see. It started off cloudy for a couple of hours, but towards the end it was beautiful! The clouds started to clear up and we had an amazing sunset. Here are the pictures from today.

13 Février, 2011... Bienvenue
So, this is a little late. I finally got some pictures of my apartment. It’s a nice place. Kinda small, but in a good location in Cergy. I’m literally a 2 minute walk from my school which is next door. And the mall and subway station are about a 5 minute walk away. And a nice little quaint area of Cergy is about an 8 minute walk away. I’ll go there later today hopefully and take...
06 Feb, 2011... The Louvre
So, this Sunday a few of us went to the Louvre. Wow… Just Wow! There’s so much to see in there. We easily spent 6 hours there and still haven’t seen everything. I’ll definitely have to go back next month. We found out that the 1st Sunday of every month The Louvre is free. Good deal! Ha ha! There was a long line, but the wait wasn’t so bad. There is so much detail on...
Feb 05, 2011 Another day in Paris
So, today was another great adventure in Paris. It was nothing but walking around and doing what ever we wanted to. Which was awesome. A few of my friends from America and I started the day around 9am to take the train into town and we didn’t get back until about 9pm. Altogether I’d say we walked about 18 to 20 miles. Je suis fatigue!!! Anyway, here are some of the pictures I got...

(On the way to Paris the moon decided to show itself.)
(Breakfast & Music)
(Taking the subway is awesome. Only about 7 Euros for one ticket that can get you anywhere you want throughout the entire day.)
(Good ole Micky D’s… So yea, I come to France just to eat American food. So what? It was delicious! While I was there I tried my best to order in French. When the...

Got my Visa!!!
It’s finally here. My Student Visa. Now I’m all set to go study in France with no more anxiety over documents and bureaucracies. And in exactly one month from today I will be stepping off that plane. :D
Road trip to Atlanta for the Consulate
Okay, so Atlanta was pretty awesome. Got some good food (Chipotle) and went with my roomie, Ian, to the World of Coca Cola.
But as far as the French Consulate, it was not what I expected. I had the idea that I would be sat down in an office, interviewed in French, and asked several questions of what my plans were while staying in France. It was actually more like a trip to the DMV. Slow,...
Circuits II
So, today I got my final grade for my Circuits II class. My whole trip abroad depended on this one grade. I’m very happy to say I got a B in that class and will definitely be going to France in the spring. Unless of course I get turned down for my visa which is highly unlikely. I’ll keep y’all posted on that. Next stop, Atlanta!
